I had an incredible opportunity to be part of the Book Dash project, where two of my colleagues from Sea Monster and myself were given 12 hours to write, illustrate and design a print-ready book to tell the story of Miriam Makeba.

melody character design

The main character is a 6 year old girl called Melody who visualizes wonderful stories and characters from the story or poem that is read to her by her mother, accompanied by a piece of classical music. As Melody is partially sighted the laws of the sighted world do not limit her imagination and, therefore, the animated segments of the show.

I was the lead creative on Melody. The vision for the Melody stories was to create simple, engaging animations in a style which goes beyond literal representation to create a more sensory audio-visual experience, and so this project gave our animators a rather unique license to create surreal, abstract environments that would be as accessible to the partially sighted as possible.

vintage kitchen aid badge

It's been a looong time since I've done anything freehand. This was my submission for a Kitchen-Aid competition. The rules were pretty simple:
nr1. Anything Kitchen-aid related and nr2. nothing digital, only pen on paper
:)

Lately I have been inspired by some amazing UI design which led me to try it out for myself.
 so glossy..so shiney..
